In a functioning democracy, it is often the enemies within that pose the most threat, and this is certainly the case regarding Donald Trump’s border wall with Mexico. The President campaigned on the idea of securing the US southern border with a “big, beautiful wall”, and it resonated with the electorate. It was probably one of the defining campaign issues.
People voted for Donald Trump based on his promises, this is the clearest mandate needed fro presidential action. But people not just in the Democrat party are seeking to deny the will of the electorate their wants.
Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) and Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ), are teaming up with the Democrats to block any Congressional funding for the wall. In what is clearly against their constituencies’ interests (they are both elected to “border states”), the Republican 5th Columnists are working against a democratic mandate.
So now the Wall is blocked from the 2017-2018 budget. Many voters are angry at the Democrats and Republicans for stalling this much-needed development. If elected representatives do not actually represent the wishes of their employers (the public), then they should step down and let someone in who will. What is the point of a representative democracy if those we elect don’t fulfill their duties?
Funding for the border wall is being BLOCKED from the 2017-2018 budget and it’s all because of 2 Republican Congressman. They are helping stop President Trump’s #1 campaign promise and he WILL NOT be happy.
Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) and Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ) are teaming up with Democrats to stop the funding of the wall, according to Breitbart. And the craziest part is, they’re from BORDER states!
These two are joining Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer in REFUSING to secure our borders. SHARE this on Facebook to spread the word!
Senator John McCain has made statements against the wall this week. He said he’s worried about “anti-American sentiment” in Mexico. Perhaps he should worry about the American PEOPLE for once?
Remember when McCain CAMPAIGNED on building a border fence in 2010? HA HA! Oh, how the times have changed.
Rubio laughed off the idea of Mexico paying for the wall and said it was not important. That doesn’t come as a huge surprise considering he co-authored the largest amnesty bill in American history in 2013.
