If there’s one thing most people agree on, it’s that the Federal government is bloated and could do with shedding a little weight. Well, Good News! The US government has officially removed 11,000 employees from the books.
Each year for the last 2, the number of Federal employees has risen drastically, but now that has been reversed. The savings are likely to be huge and it’s another campaign promise fulfilled.
But this is NOT a bad sign for the economy (despite how some may spin it). In fact, there have been one million new jobs added to the SU economy over the same period. All President Trump s doing is trimming the fat from overblown departments.
The government has grown and grown in terms of people and cost; it is wasteful and unnecessary, and now we can start to repair the nation with a proper, streamlined framework. This is the beginning of a truly “small government”, and for that, we should all be grateful!
Drain the swamp.
Candidate Donald Trump promised to do it and he has been following through as president.
While a number of other promises have yet to come to fruition, such as the construction of a border wall and repealing and replacing Obamacare, cutting the bureaucracy in D.C. has been right up 45’s alley.
In fact, 11,000 employees from the federal government are now gone.
From Government Executive:
The Trump administration has shed nearly 11,000 federal employees during its first six months, reversing a two year trend of gains throughout the executive branch.
Boom!
That is undoubtedly one of the main reasons he was elected.
