When being questioned about allegations of Russian interference, ex-AG (acting), Sally Yates was asked about why she didn’t defend President Trump’s travel restrictions on countries susceptible to terror infiltration. Her answer tells us not just about her own incompetence, but also about the delusional world that the Left lives in. She said that she thought that what The Donald had said on the campaign trail would be used as evidence to derail his Executive Order. The big news is…It Can’t!
Heading up the questioning was Senator John Kennedy (Louisiana Republican), who ran her down on her presumption and said: “Who appointed you to the Supreme Court?”
An Attorney General who cannot understand the law deserves to be fired (as she was), but what many are wondering, is if the AG got this wrong, then how many other Liberals in government got this wrong, too? The whole of the 9th Circuit seems to be geared towards anti-Trump rulings, and this is why it is always selected as the place to get cases heard by the Left. As Newt Gingrich suggested a couple of weeks ago: “Perhaps it’s time to shut down the 9th Circuit?”
So if Yates didn’t support Trump’s actions because of a lack of legal knowledge, what’s to stop his Orders being pushed through again. The TROs on his Orders came about because of comments he made whilst campaigning, if they are non-admissable, then surely the Orders should go through?
Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates was grilled about her refusal to defend the president’s travel executive order…She made huge mistake by assuming what Trump said during the campaign could be admissible in court…IT CAN’T!
In a hearing centered on Russian interference in the election, one senator took the opportunity to question the former attorney general who was fired for refusing to defend President Trump’s travel ban.
Senator John Kennedy (R-Louisiana) asked former acting Attorney General Sally Yates why she refused to defend Trump’s initial executive order barring travel from several Mideast nations.
“I believed any argument [the Justice Department] would have to make in its defense would not be grounded in the truth,” Yates said.
“We would have to argue that it had nothing to do with religion,” she said.
Kennedy asked whether there was no reasonable argument that could be made to defend the order any other way.
Yates said she believed the intent of the order was to discriminate against Muslims trying to come to the United States.
Here’s what former US Attorney Joe DiGenova said about Sally Yates: “This is a person of the extreme Left who should not have been anywhere near the decision-making process for this president.”
Yates was fired…and should have been!
