The role of Government is to administer and represent the people’s wishes; this is why we talk about “mandates” and “policy platforms”. A President is elected based on the policies that they propose, and the voting public expect their leader to deliver on these promises.
During the 2016 election, how many candidates said that they would use the tax revenue to fund as much immigration as possible? How many of the candidates said that from the annual budget, a large amount of the money would be diverted from other things to pay for “refugees”? Do you remember that on their stump speeches?
No one has a political mandate to do this. It is your decision as the taxpayer as to what your money is spent on. Not a single vote cast in 2016 was to spend your money on importing over 100,000 Muslim migrants a year, it was in no manifesto and was not mentioned during the campaign. So by what right is the government spending your money?
The US has a Foreign Aid budget of $50 Billion per year. The money should come only from this budget and nowhere else. If our leaders want to spend more, they need to ask us and put it to a vote.
Obama opened the floodgates to Muslim refugees from Syria and other dangerous nations.
Trump’s travel ban has been delayed, so they continue to pose a national security risk to Americans.
But it is not just dangerous to let in refugees from radical nations—it is very expensive. From Breitbart:
American taxpayers will spend more than $4.1 billion in the 2017 budget to support the 519,018 refugees who have been resettled by the federal government in the United States since October 2009, according to a cost estimate by Breitbart News.
To put that very large number in context, $4.1 billion can buy 10,677 new homes for $384,000 each, which is the average price of a new home sold in the United States in December 2016. Or it could buy 170,124 new autos for $24,100 each, which is the manufacturer’s suggested retail price for a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu.
And you, the average American, is footing this bill. Should your tax dollars pay for Muslim refugees?
