65-year-old woman pays the price for Oregon’s sanctuary state status; assaulted by illegal with 13 deportations

Portland should be ashamed of itself. A convicted criminal who has been deported “at least 13 times”, Sergio Jose Martinez, broke into his 65-year-old victim’s house, tied her up and sexually assaulted her. This was a crime that needn’t of happened and the blame falls squarely on Portland’s Sanctuary status.

Martinez, a known illegal migrant,  has been charged with many crimes over the years including theft and hit and run. It is a disgrace that Portland authorities can only guess that he has been removed from the country on at least 13 occasions. Why don’t they know? He was already trying to be tracked down by ICE, and Portland’s refusal to hand him over is part of the reason this happened.

He was even suspected of other sexual assaults actually in Portland. This should not have been a surprise to anyone. If proof were needed that President Donald Trump has called this correctly, then look no more. We need to deport IMMEDIATELY all illegal aliens that commit ANY crime in the US, no matter how minor.

Trump’s remark during his presidential announcement last year – that some of the illegal immigrants Mexico sends to the U.S. are “criminals” and “rapists” – may be offensive to a few, but the truth within his observation continues to reverberate.

This is especially so in Oregon where it has been announced that a man accused of sexually assaulting a 65-year-old Oregon woman is a “serial immigration violator” who had been released from jail despite a detainer request from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency [ICE].

Martinez used scarves and socks to bind the victim’s hands and feet and blindfolded her, according to court documents, and then proceeded to violently attack the woman physically and sexually.

According to the Daily CallerSergio Jose Martinez, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, had been deported at least 13 times since 2008, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson Virginia Kice confirmed to Portland’s KATU2. Martinez, 31, was also the subject of an ICE detainer request placed Dec. 7, 2016 with the Multnomah County Jail, where he was being held on local charges.

Because Oregon law prohibits police from using agency resources to enforce immigration law, jail officials released Martinez the following day without notifying ICE.

Besides being a “serial immigration violator,” Martinez also appears to be a serial rapist, having been accused of two sexual assaults in Portland.

As KOIN.com reports, Martinez had been arrested 13 times since 2008 for crimes ranging from shoplifting to a car theft and a hit-and-run.

February 2008 – Drinking in public
March 2008 – Theft of a motor vehicle
March 2008 – Hit and run
January 2017 – Criminal trespassing
February 2017 – Drug offenses
February 2017 – Interfering with public safety
March 2017 – Fugitive Warrant
March 2017 – Detox, civil hold
March 2017 – Fugitive warrant
April 2017 – Theft of services
April 2017 – Shoplifting
June 2017 – Fugitive warrant
July 2017 – Criminal trespassing

The Daily Caller adds: Oregon has for many years been one of the nation’s most restrictive states when it comes to allowing local law enforcement to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. A 1986 law prevents police from using any resources to arrest or detain people whose “only violation of law is that they are persons of foreign citizenship present in the United States in violation of federal immigration laws.” The Oregon legislature passed a law in late June that expands that prohibition to all “public bodies” within the state.

Governor Kate Brown of Oregon proudly continues this tradition of flaunting the authority of ICE.

In fact, she, along with Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum and Multnomah County circuit court judge Nan G. Waller, has recently endorsed a bill that will“codify Oregon as a ‘sanctuary state’ for illegal aliens.”

Unfortunately, as the victims of Sergio Jose Martinez have learned, if one invites those who are in defiance of federal law into one’s community, there will be those among twho that will defy other laws as well – even, as Trump said, laws against rape.
